Conflict of interest policy
Ejthad for Scientific Research is committed to ensuring transparency and integrity in all aspects of the publishing process. The journal considers the disclosure of any potential conflicts of interest by authors, referees, and editorial board members essential to maintaining the credibility of published research.
Definition of Conflict of Interest:
A conflict of interest occurs when personal, financial, or academic relationships or commitments affect the objectivity or impartiality of authors, referees, or editorial board members in the research, evaluation, or publication process. Conflicts of interest can be real, potential, or perceived.
Authors' Responsibilities:
-
All authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may have an impact on the research findings or their interpretation. This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Funding Sources: Any entity that funded the research (e.g., organizations, companies, or grants) must be stated.
-
Related Party Relationships: Any affiliation, employment, consultancy, or partnership with an organization that may have a financial or academic interest in the research findings.
-
Patents and Intellectual Property Rights: Any patents or intellectual property rights relevant to the research.
-
Personal Relationships: Any personal relationships that may affect the objectivity of the research.
A "Disclosure of Conflict of Interest" section should be included at the end of the research before the reference list, stating any potential conflicts of interest or indicating the absence of any.
Reviewer Responsibilities:
Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their ability to provide an objective assessment of the research. This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Personal or professional relationships with the authors.
-
Academic competition with the authors.
-
A financial or academic interest in the research results.
If a reviewer has a potential conflict of interest that makes them unable to provide an impartial assessment, they must inform the editorial board and withdraw from reviewing the research.
Editorial Responsibilities:
Editorial board members must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may affect their editorial decisions. This includes, but is not limited to:
-
Being an author on a manuscript under review in the journal (in this case, they are excluded from the decision-making process regarding that manuscript).
-
Personal or professional relationships with the authors.
-
A financial or academic interest in the research results.
The Editorial Board is committed to dealing transparently and fairly with any disclosed conflicts of interest. The Board may make decisions regarding conflict management to ensure the integrity of the publication process, including excluding a reviewer or editorial board member from handling a particular manuscript.
Consequences of Failure to Disclose a Conflict of Interest:
Failure to disclose a relevant conflict of interest may result in the manuscript being rejected or withdrawn after publication, and the relevant parties will be notified accordingly.
The journal considers the disclosure of conflicts of interest to be an essential part of the ethical responsibility of authors, reviewers, and editorial board members, and is committed to implementing this policy to ensure the highest standards of integrity in its publications.
