Abstract

The study aimed to identify the relationship between certain anthropometric and physical variables and the accuracy of long-range shooting in basketball. The researcher employed a descriptive correlational approach on a sample of first-team players from Al-Shabab Al-Arabi Club.
Measurements included height, body weight, upper-limb muscular strength, lower-limb muscular power, and a long-range shooting accuracy test.
The results revealed statistically significant correlations between the anthropometric and physical variables and long-range shooting accuracy. The findings also indicated that the explosive power of both the arms and legs contributes significantly to improving skill performance.
The study recommended the adoption of scientific measurements in training processes and in the selection of basketball players.
